A giant rock formation sat right in the middle of the site (Banjara Hills). As construction began, we discovered the quiet reverence people - including neighbors, workers, and passersby held for that rock. It had a presence that demanded acknowledgment, and so the rock became our design guide. We oriented the building around it, and placed a skylight directly above, letting light pour down onto something the earth had placed there long before we arrived. Built in 2012, the building continues to save up to 40% in artificial lighting and ventilation energy.
